Orchard Lake St. Mary’s linebacker Josh Ross, 5, crashes into Detroit Loyola defensive back Cartiae Mitchell during St. Mary’s 35-14 win Friday at Hazel Park.
Orchard Lake’s St. Mary’s Joshua Ross spent time at running back Friday night against Detroit Loyola.
He got stopped on a fourth and short.
He spent time at tight end and made some key blocks.
But it was when he controlled the middle of the Eaglets’ defense at linebacker that his star shined the brightest in the team’s 35-14 victory.
On one play he took on a big offensive lineman, stuffed him, stood him up and raced to the running back and pounded him into the turf.
Linebacker is his home and where he’ll be at star at Michigan.
Thursday, he came up with the motto “Keep moving forward.” He echoed those words to his teammates after OLSM improved their record to 1-1.
If they get to Ford Field again, Ross will be in the middle of the team’s success.
