Football

Detroit Central 56, Detroit Frederick Douglass 8: Quarterback Julian Jordan went 18-of-24 passing for 310 yards and five touchdowns for Central (4-4, 3-4 PSL), while D.J. Atkins finished with 180 all-purpose and two touchdowns. Chaim Austin had 15 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles for Central’s defense and Dewayn Stewart added seven tackles for loss and two sacks.

Detroit Northwestern 41, Detroit Southeastern 20: Quarterback Marcus Smith went 18-of-27 for 275 yards passing and four touchdowns for Northwestern (3-5), while Everett Hart added 130 yards rushing and one touchdown and a 58-yard touchdown reception. Northwestern’s Jason Singleton caught three passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Creed Stegall-Monroe had a 40-yard touchdown run for Southeastern (1-7).

Boys soccer

Dearborn Edsel Ford 2, Belleville 2: Hemzeh Elsalti and Colin Hanosh scored goals for Edsel Ford, while Albaara Alsoufi collected an assist.

L’Anse Creuse 3, L’Anse Creuse North 2: Nick Allen, Blake Coleman and Abdullah Alubadi scored goals for L’Anse Creuse.

Parkway Christian 2, Charyl Stockwell Academy 1: Will Papenheim and Jacob Looney each scored for Parkway, while Looney also added an assist.

Summit Academy 2, Arbor Preparatory 2: Rodrigo Garcia had both goals for Summit, while goalie Parker Mathena had seven saves in net.

Girls volleyball

Lakeland 3, Walled Lake Northern 1: Lakeland seniors Catherine Connaughton, Kaitlyn Hawke, Kate Winter and Audrie Ziegler contributed to the team’s win on Senior Night.
